Interactive hypertext exploring language, memory, and digital decay. Code as art.
Each piece uses a different mechanism to make text fail. One surfaces fragments in Hebrew, Sanskrit, Latin, and Coptic that decay as you interact. Another transforms typing into entropy, corrupting characters progressively until the input becomes Unicode chaos. A third turns reading into an athletic event where missed clicks lose characters to the void.
Audio synthesis responds to interaction intensity via the Web Audio API. Typing accumulates a tinnitus-like tone that builds with use. The sound is part of the constraint, not decoration.
The texts are built from ancient and classical language corpora. Fragment systems handle multiple writing systems and directionality. Corruption algorithms are designed to feel organic rather than random.
Live most of my static web projects, the code is stripped to static bones. No frameworks, no dependencies, no build step. CSS animations handle decay rather than JavaScript timers. The performance constraint is deliberate: the tools for creating persistence are themselves ephemeral.
